ALABAMA (WTVY) -- Today marks the anniversary of the state of Alabama.
It was on December 14th, 1819 that Alabama became the 22nd State of the Union.
Before Montgomery became the capital of the state, it was first in Huntsville, then the abandoned ghost town of Cahaba and Tuscaloosa served as Alabama's seat.
The official bird of the state is the Yellowhammer, its state flower is the Cameilia.
And in a connection with the Wiregrass, the state's officially recognized agricultural museum is dothan's own Landmark Park.
