Atlantic Ocean (WTVY) -- Three years ago this week, Hurricane Gonzalo reached peak strength in the Caribbean, packing sustained winds of 145 miles per hour.

The Bermuda Weather Service has been very active on Facebook through the event and has been posting many radar images with captions. This image was taken at 8:15 p.m. Friday in the Bermuda time zone as the eye of Gonzalo was moving over Bermuda.

The storm caused damage on St. Martin, and knocked out power to over 85% of people on the island nation of Bermuda.

Once the storm went far east and extratropical, it brought wind and rain to parts of United Kingdom.
