Search for Dothan City superintendent has narrowed

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -— The Dothan City School Board has chosen their five finalists
The search for superintendent has narrowed, and is now in its home stretch.
The Dothan City School Board announced their five finalists at Monday’s school board meeting.
The finalists have been contacted and are still interested in the position.
Interviews will take place throughout the next two weeks and are open to the public.

The five finalists are:
• Dr. Larry Collier of Huntsville, Alabama
• Mrs. Martha B. Compton of Chipley, Florida
• Dr. Phyllis Edwards of Palm Coast, Florida
• Dr. D. Ray Hill of Snellville, Georgia
• Dr. Alan Miller of Haleyville, Alabama

The board started out with twenty-three candidates and say it was tough narrowing it down as they were all great.

"They all have an incredible amount of experience as superintendents, so we're looking forward to meeting with them and hopefully finding the right person." Said Chairman Mike Schmitz.

The board has until November 28th to elect a candidate, but hope to have one selected by November 21st.
