The Elba City School District is looking to expand it pre-k classes

ELBA (WTVY) Elba City School Superintendent Chresal Threadgill says his district's pre-k class has a waiting list of four-year-olds.
Threadgill says his district is requesting a second pre-kindergarten class from the Alabama Department of Education. As part of the grant request, Elba will pay a 20-percent local match. Statistics indicate Alabama’s pre-k program is considered one of the best in the country. Threadgill hopes to learn in early summer whether his district can receive a grant to start a second pre-k class.
