DOTHAN, Al. (WTVY) The Dothan Fire Department must soon supply its own medicines.
Beginning next month, The Southeast Alabama Medical Center will no longer furnish them as they have for years.
The hospital says financial reasons are to blame.
The fire department is now working with Pilcher’s Ambulance Service to figure out what needs to be done.
This change will increase the department’s expenses by up to $25,000 annually.
Sean Gibson says, "By October 15th we will have this system up and running because we have a whole team dedicated to it but the people of Dothan and Houston County, they won't notice the difference."
The Medical Center will stop supplying the medicine on October 15th.
