DOTHAN, Al. (WTVY) — Highlands Elementary is continuing to help Texas recover from Hurricane Harvey.
Mrs. Patton's kindergarten class sent a kindness box full of crayons, books and binders to Tinsley Elementary in Houston.
The kids got to put some of their own things in the box.
The students in Texas sent them thank you notes.
Brittany Patton says,
"One that really touched my heart said 'this helped my mom not have to spend any more money to buy things so I wanted to thank you for that."
Judson Fowler is in Mrs. Patton’s class. She says,
"They didn't have any and I know they needed some toys but they couldn't go anywhere to get them."
Mrs. Patton got the whole school to pitch in on items in the kindness box.
