Steam rises off Lake Superior in cold weather

By  |

Duluth, MN (NBJR / CBS Newspath) -- Lake Superior near Duluth, Minnesota gave a little Christmas present.

The Lake steam coming off the Great Lake gave photographers willing to brave sub-zero temperatures a chance for that *perfect photo.

Lake steam typically happens when colder air passes over the relatively warmer water of Lake Superior.

With below zero temps settling in for much of the week, more photo ops like this can be expected.
