Dothan, AL (WTVY)- A second Dothan home in less than 24 hours was destroyed by fire early Tuesday while a neighboring home suffered minor damage when flames spread. The fire occurred on Westfield Drive one block south of West Main Street.
“A dog started barking at a neighbor’s house waking the homeowner who went across the street and woke up the person in the house that suffered lesser damage,” Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams said.
Nobody was in the home that was destroyed. Investigators remain on the scene looking for the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, the investigation into a Christmas Day fire that destroyed a home on Riveredge Parkway continues, though, indications are it was ignited by a faulty gas fire place.
“We’re thankful nobody was injured in either fire,” Williams said.
