DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — Audri Scott Williams held her first campaign stop Saturday-- at Poplar Head Park in Dothan.
Scott Williams is seeking the democratic nomination for US Representative for Alabama's 2nd Congressional District, currently held by Martha Roby.
She says her plan while campaigning is to "wake up the consciousness of the community."
A former dean at Charles County Community College---Scott Williams says she's an advocate for strengthening public education.
"We have to look at what kind of jobs we're creating and are we creating the pipeline from education into those jobs to create a future where a young family can buy a house and can live the quality of life that so many of our young people leave Alabama to get."
On October 21st--Scott Williams will be launching her state wide campaign in Montgomery.
The party primaries are June 5th.
