DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — Santa for Seniors is a grass roots, volunteer effort designed to bring Christmas cheer to Wiregrass seniors who need basic necessities and home repairs.
Now in its eleventh season, this community project is organized by SARCOA and volunteers and serves seniors in seven counties throughout the Wiregrass.
SARCOA case managers have chosen the neediest seniors in the area as Santa for Seniors recipients. Many are low-income, homebound and alone.
Choose a senior to adopt by visiting www.sarcoa.org. Each senior has a wish list of items. Most of the requests are for everyday items such as cleaning supplies, groceries, bed linens, adult diapers, clothing and other basic necessities.
The final gift collection day is December 9. For more information, visit www.sarcoa.org.
