Rehobeth High teen gets a state level award

REHOBETH, Al. (WTVY) A Rehobeth High School student will soon be recognized for an award he recently won.

Ty Rickard created a video to promote the farming industry.

For it, he won first place in the multi-media category in the state Farm City Awards.

He'll be honored at the Houston County annual banquet.

He says, "A lot of people don't have the appreciation for agriculture like they should because it is a huge part of Alabama, we don't think a lot about it so it is neat to put something in video form to show to students that you can really bring awareness to it."

This year’s farm city banquet is November 16th at the Dothan Civic Center.
