Possible Slave Ship Wreckage Found in Mobile

MOBILE, AL -- (WTVY) Archaeological experts are in Mobile trying to solve a 150 year old mystery.
They want to know if the remnants a slave ship have been discovered.
AL.com reporter Ben Raines spotted the ruins of a ship when the tide was extremely low several weeks ago.
Next Wednesday, divers and researchers are expected to announce their findings during a community meeting.
Community members are hopeful that the remnants are, in fact, from the Clotilda.
History records show that the ship's captain burned and sunk the boat in the waters of the mobile river delta to hide it from authorities.
