DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — Plans are moving forward for a police and firefighter training facility in Dothan.
The 22 acre site is on Ennis Road.
At Tuesday’s commission meeting, the Wiregrass Foundation turned over the reins of the project to the city.
The foundation raised $20 million dollars for construction and more plans will be announced this week.
Police Chief Steve Parrish says the facility will change the way first responders train in our area.
Plans are to open the center in the summer of 2019.
