China state broadcaster CCTV aired footage of the trio, saying they were not only fed bamboo leaves, bamboo shoots and carrots, but handlers also prepared steamed cornbread for them shaped like gold ingots or dumplings.

The triplets - Mengmeng, Shuaishuai and Kuku, meaning cute, handsome and cool in English - are three and a half years old now, the equivalent of 11 human years.

The pandas were born on July 29, 2014, and were the world's first and only surviving panda triplets.
