Paddle for a Purpose

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. (Sheriff's Office) — In a little more than a week Lakefest will take over Lake DeFuniak for its annual festivities.

For the first time ever, Walton County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Health are hosting a Poker Paddle, a charity poker “run” benefiting Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center and Shelter House of Northwest Florida. Instead of “running” participants will paddle to each designated stop and draw a card at random. The card drawn is recorded on each participant's scorecard, and the winner of the event is the participant who makes the best five-card poker hand at the end of the event!

We cordially invite the media and press to cover this inaugural charity event! If you’d like to preview coverage of the Poker Paddle, contact information is below!
