(AL.com) — A new Fox News poll shows former President Barack Obama - a Democrat - has a higher favorability rating than Trump, a Republican in his first term in the White House.
The poll shows Obama with a 52 percent favorability rating in Alabama compared to Trump's 49 percent. Obama had a 45 percent unfavorable rating in the poll; Trump had a 48 percent unfavorable rating.
Among Alabama Republicans, 88 percent said they had either a strongly or somewhat favorable view of Trump while only17 percent said the same about former President Obama. The numbers were flipped among Democrats - 7 percent said they had either a strongly favorable or somewhat favorable opinion of Trump compared to 91 percent who said the same about Obama.
The poll included a sample of 823 registered voters and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
