After week-long speculations of Head Coach LaBrian Stewart's future at Northview High School, the Dothan City School Board held their weekly meeting and the decision of whether or not Stewart should remain the Head Coach and Athletic Director was on the agenda.
LaBrian Stewart from Northview heading into his 2nd year. He lost 32 seniors last year but is excited for the new team. He says junior runningback Jalen Thomas may very well be the next Bo Jackson.
Multiple Northview Cougar athletes took the opportunity to speak in front of the Board and plead their case as of why they believe Stewart should remain the Head Coach of the program. Also parents of players, teachers, and former students at Northview took time to speak about their relationship with Stewart and why he should keep his position on the staff.
After a 45-minute break, the board openly voted 3-2 against Stewart. Though, the minimum number of votes was not reached. The vote stands, and LaBrian Stewart remains the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director of Northview High School.
Head Coach LaBrian Stewart refused to speak on camera about the decision but did say that he is happy about the outcome. Stewart was also pleased he had a lot of support at the meeting.
