Star City, Russia (RTV / NBC News Channel) -- The next International Space Station crew, including NASA astronaut Scott Tingle, is in final training before a scheduled December launch.
The crew conducted final qualification training this week at the training center in Star City, Russia.
Tingle is joined by the Russian commander and a Japanese astronaut.
The three posed for photos and took questions from the media before their training began.
They are scheduled to launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on December 17th for a five and half month mission at the Space Station.
Tingle is a native of Randolph, Massachusetts and a Captain in the U.S. Navy.
