(NBC News Channel) - The U.S. Labor Department will release its latest employment numbers today for the month of August.
Economists believe employers generated fewer jobs last month than they did at the start of the summer.
They expect the number to come in around 179,000 , which has been a trend of sorts since early last year.
Economists expect the unemployment rate will hold at its lowest level in 16 years, at 4.3%.
Any fallout from Harvey won't show up until next month's jobs report is released.
