DOTHAN, AL (WTVY) -- The Houston County Board of Education decided to expel at student at Monday night's meeting.
This comes more than a week after a student threatened to bring a loaded firearm to a Houston County school.
The board unanimously voted to expel the student from all Houston County Schools, and all out of school functions.
When asked, Houston County Superintendent, David Sewell says "We take it serious when a weapon of any type comes on our campuses, because of the potential to do harm to our Students. We let our faculty know about what's happening and to keep an eye out for him as much as we can."
Sewell and the Houston County Sheriff's Office will be monitoring this expelled student to prevent any retaliation against the schools.
