Honeysuckle students rack up science fair awards

DOTHAN, Ala (WTVY) - Several Honeysuckle Middle School students won awards at the Wiregrass District Science Fair.

10 out of the 12 6th and 7th graders placed in the engineering, physical science, and plant science categories.

Their projects included slime as a tool to ease anxiety, using baby diapers to help plants grow, and one student even built their own robot.

Some of the students are even budding scientists—and one wants to be a meteorologist.

"I get to learn more about the weather and the forecasts,” says Caleb Baldwin, student. “And when there's sometimes hurricanes, I can help people prepare for that."

The students will go on to compete at the Wiregrass Regional Science fair in Auburn. If the students win in Auburn, they will go on to compete at the state level in Huntsville.
