DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- The Peanut Festival parade is always busy as people line up and down Main street and floats go by but before heading to the parade people are encouraged to grab a quick breakfast. Tomorrow morning, the Dothan Kiwanis club is having its 48th annual pancake breakfast. The breakfast is the main fundraiser for the group with proceeds going towards charitable donations and scholarships for local high schools. Today, they sold about 550 tickets between takeout orders, many of them being businesses they partner with and people who decided to dine in at the Doug Tew Center in Dothan. Chairman Anthony Long said eating breakfast together can help bring the community together.
Breakfast will continue tomorrow morning from 6:00am to 9:00am. Tickets are still available and you can get them at the door. They’re $6 apiece and people don’t necessarily have to dine in, in fact they can take the meal with them.
