GENEVA, Ala. (WTVY) -- The search is on for a new Geneva City School Superintendent.
The school board has just finished compiling applications for the position.
There are 11-candidates, and a screening process has begun.
Board members will start interviewing finalists at the end of July.
They hope to find someone who has prior superintendent or assistant superintendent experience.
"He or she is responsible for ensuring that all three schools are up to codes, making sure that the budgets that each school has are being adhered to,” said School Board Chairman Russell Clausell. “Of course, he or she supervises the board staff."
The board hopes to have a new superintendent in place by August, in time for the start of the new school year.
