DOTHAN, Al. (WTVY) Dothan is one step closing to getting a new building at Eastgate Park. The Dothan city commission has approved $77,000 dollars for designs of a building at Eastgate park. If built, it will replace the current building.
The resolution just narrowly passed by a vote of 4-3 during Tuesday’s meeting. This, comes after the city spent 15-million dollars from the reserve funds to build James Oates Parks, which opened this month.
Opposition to the resolution says there's a chance the city can incur sewer-related debt and a possibility of incurring more debt to fund the system's repairs. But proponents say, the building fills a current need.
