Free TB screening in Dothan after disease linked to local nightclubs

By  |

Multiple cases of pulmonary tuberculosis have been linked to nightclubs in Dothan.

Now the Alabama Department of Public Health is offering TB screening for free.

The department says if you've been to the Blue Bar, Chill Lounge, Club Escape, The G-Spot, or Imani Lounge/Bar in the past year, you should be tested.

TB is a contagious airborne disease, but it can be treated and prevented. It is spread through the air when a sick person coughs, sings, sneezes, laughs or speaks.

The free testing event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 27th, at the Houston County Health Department from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The first 300 people will be given a $20 Walmart gift card.
