"Thor: Ragnarok" sees Thor imprisoned and weaponless on the planet Sakaar, with new baddie Hela (played by Cate Blanchett) threatening the destruction of his home world, Asgard.

Also causing problems for Thor is fellow Avenger, and former ally, The Hulk - played by Mark Ruffalo, who he is pitted against in a gladiator fight.

The movie, which picks up where "Avengers: Age of Ultron" left off, also stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

It is rumored that Benedict Cumberbatch will also reprise his role as Dr. Strange in the movie.

"Thor Ragnarok" is set for release in the U.S. on November 3.

Other releases on Marvel's roster in 2017 are the eagerly anticipated "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," released in the U.S. on May 5 and "Spider-Man: Homecoming," on July 7.
