Dothan, AL (WTVY)- Fire has destroyed two more homes in the Dothan area.

One occurred in Cottonwood. Firefighters from several volunteer departments responded to the blaze about 6:30. When they arrived the home fire was “fully involved.”

A short time later, a home in Slocomb was also destroyed by fire.

The Houston County Emergency Management Agency reports, in all, seven fires occurred within a few miles of Dothan Wednesday. About fifteen have occurred since Christmas Day and several homes destroyed.

In Cottonwood, a couple got out safely but lost everything. The Red Cross is helping them cope.

Public Safety Director, Col. Jim Smith, said foul play isn't suspected but investigators won't be able to get into the ruins until Thursday due to smoldering debris.

Limited information is available regarding the Slocomb fire though nobody was injured.
