GENEVA, Al. (WTVY) There is now a new peanut buying station in Geneva

Farmer's First Peanut Company is a group of local growers who sell to Birdsong Peanuts in Georgia.

The $2 million project has been in the works for months and opened last Friday.

Over 200,000 acres in Geneva are dedicated to farming.

Chairman Eugene Chambliss says, "Forecast is this is going to be the best year we have ever had, and right now with the peanuts we have received, the quality is really really good so far."

Farmers First can process between 150 and 300 tons per day.
