(WTVY) It's harvest season in the Wiregrass, and that means sharing the road with farm equipment.
Tractors and other large farming vehicles are slowing down traffic.
Now is the peak time for peanut picking, and farmers will soon begin picking cotton.
The Houston County Extension Coordinator says you'll even see tractors driving on Ross Clark Circle for short periods of time, but for the most part, they stick to back roads.
Durr also says, "Be alert, watch out for these vehicles ahead of you. Slow down, and if you have a chance to get around them- they will stop and let you get around them after a period of time if they can find a leveled ground, but that equipment is awfully wide so sometimes it takes up more than one lane."
Harvest season will end around late November.
