Drug Bust in Cowarts leads to three arrests

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WTVY) -- More than 20-weapons and several prescription drugs are off the streets, after a follow-up investigation led Houston County Sheriff Deputies to a drug bust in Cowarts.

Deputies responded to a call at 2778 Jordan Avenue in Cowarts Wednesday afternoon.

When deputies arrived, their investigation led them to call the Houston County Vice Unit and the Alabama Drug Enforcement Taskforce.

A search warrant was obtained and executed, and during the search 21 firearms and a large amount of illegal drugs were recovered.

Deputies arrested 18-year-old Ethan Roper, 18-year-old Ethan Goolsby, and 19-year-old Jacob Grimes.

All three men were charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of marijuana first degree.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a search on the firearms to find out if any are stolen.
