Dothan Police Foundation helping sheltered animals find homes

DOTHAN, AL (WTVY) The Dothan Police Foundation is doing its part to help sheltered animals in our area.

It's part of the foundation's Pro-Life Animal Services project. The initiative helps find homes for sheltered dogs and cats. The community can help. All donations go toward helping animal transport and adoptions.

Chief Steve Parrish says the program works to reduce euthanasia rates and financially support pro-pet organizations.

"If we take the attitude and the posture of the community investing in itself and find homes for these pets, we'll be able to transport these pets to other areas of the country that do not have them and avoid having to put them to sleep," said Chief Parrish.
