Dothan, Geneva warming stations need volunteers, donations

(WTVY) -- Warming stations will open in Dothan and Geneva the first of January.

The Harbor in downtown Dothan will open Monday, January 1st, and Tuesday, January 2nd. Check-in will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m. each night. The station will close the following mornings at 8:00.

Volunteers are needed for Monday and Tuesday nights. Six positions (at least two women) are needed for the 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. shift, or six positions for each split shift time of 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Donations are also needed. They’re looking for blankets, bottled water and non-perishable food items. Call The Harbor at 334-790-4031 if you’d like to help.

The Will Jenkins Center in Geneva will open as a warming station on Tuesday, January 2nd, at 5:00 p.m. Volunteers and donations are also needed. If you’d like to help, call 334-447-1286.
