Dothan Education Foundation receives new books

The Dothan Education Foundation (DEF) received a special delivery Friday morning. Barnes and Noble dropped off 525 brand new books for Dothan City Schools libraries.

This is the third year they've done the book drive. During the holidays, customers can also purchase a book that will be donated to the school system. The books range from kindergarten to 12th grade.

The book drive is very important to president of the DEF, Gindi Prutzman.

"As someone who truly loves books… this just adds to the excitement,” said Prutzman. “Reading can take you places that you will never go and that is very exciting to me."

The education foundation will take the books to their central office and from there, they will go to each individual school based on their library needs.
