Daleville Public Library celebrates eclipse mania

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — The Daleville Public Library hosted an all-day eclipse viewing party for the community Monday.

Children and adults enjoyed snacks, crafts and the NASA live stream of The Great American Eclipse."

The library handed out solar eclipse glasses to those who pre-registered for the event. Library director Rachel Horne says it's their way of giving back to the Daleville community during this once-in-a-lifetime event.

“We thought it would be fun to have a get-together and have a little food, snacks and activities and just celebrate because we figured it would be historic," said Rachel Horne, Assistant Director of the Daleville Public Library. "We had no idea we would have this big of a response when we originally planned it, but we thought it would be fun.”

More than 300 people attended the Library’s eclipse viewing party.
