DOTHAN, AL (WTVY) --- Bondy's Nissan of Dothan is working with the Dollar General's literacy fund for the first time in the Wiregrass to encourage kids and adults to read.
Bondy's Executive Manager says the partnership will benefit the schools here in the Wiregrass..
He said "One of the great things about the literacy fund from Dollar General is that the money that's raised in that area, stays in that area. Dollar General donates to the local schools to help out. so we're excited to partner with them."
The National Center for Educational Statistics reports that 15 percent of Alabamians are functionally illiterate.
