NEW YORK (Madison Square Garden PR / CBS Newspath) -- On Wednesday, chefs from The Institute of Culinary Education unveiled the biggest Rice Krispies Treat sculpture in NYC to celebrate the return of 'Elf The Musical' to the Theater at Madison Square Garden from December 13-29, 2017.
The sculpture is a larger than life replica of the play and famous movie's main character, Buddy the Elf, and he's completely made of Rice Krispies Treats.
After the event, the structure was donated to the New York City Department of Homeless Services, a partner organization of the Garden of Dreams Foundation.
The structure stood at nearly 10 feet tall, and took almost 500 hours for the chefs from the Institute of Culinary Education to create.
It included 300 pounds of Rice Krispies Treats, 15 pounds of edible glitter, 76 pounds of icing, 70 pounds of chocolate, and 50 pounds of fondant.
