Pedestrian killed in apparent hit-and-run collision

Dothan, AL (WTVY)- A man was killed Tuesday night he was struck by an apparent hit-and-run vehicle. Initial reports were that he was riding a bicycle but it was later determined he was walking.

The collision occurred shortly about 7 o’clock near North Range and Booker Streets at Martin Homes, a housing development.

Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd identified the victim as 56-year old Dewayne Holloman who lived on Lake Street near where he was killed.

Police are looking for a passenger car---a dark Saturn---that possibly struck the man.

The Crash Team—a squad of specialized traffic accident investigators---was summoned to the scene.

In an unrelated incident that occurred a short time later, another pedestrian was struck on East Main Street at Rowland Road. Injuries are no believed to be life-threatening.
