(CNN) - Americans are expected to spend more 'Green' this Saint Patrick's Day than any Saint Patrick's Day on record.
That's according to the National Retail Federation.
The group predicts people in the United States will spend more than $5 billion in celebration--restaurants and bars will likely profit the most, Since the day is often celebrated with corned beef and a lot of alcohol.
National chains are offering up their own special products to draw in revelers, everything from green beer to free doughnuts.
More than 139 million people are expected to mark the holiday in some way in the U.S., spending about $38 each.
