All Breeds Rescue sheltering four-legged Irma evacuees

DOTHAN, AL (WTVY) All Breeds Rescue in Daleville has taken in dozens of Hurricane Irma evacuees --- all of the four-legged variety.

The organization has taken in several dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and even 17 ducks.

The animals were either surrendered or abandoned by their owners during the storm. All are up for adoption, including an adorable litter of puppies found abandoned at a truck stop.

All Breeds Rescue owner Jane Clancy and volunteers Anita Maas and Jackie Hefler say any of these rescues would make the perfect companion.

"With my volunteers working with them and all they are now happy,” said Clancy. “They are healthy, mischievous little puppies. A lot of people aren’t interested in puppies, but we also have some wonderful grown dogs that would make great pets."

Next week, All Breeds Rescue is planning to take in two peacocks that fell victim to Irma. They are looking for volunteers or donations of dog and cat food, as well as blankets, towels and cleaning supplies.
