President Donald Trump embarks on foreign trip today

(NBC News Channel) - President Donald Trump begins his first foreign trip since taking office today.

The President will be heading to the Middle East, the Vatican, and Belgium for nine days.

Trump is expected to meet with the Saudis where they will announce their plans to purchase $350 billion worth of military technology and equipment over the next ten years.

The president is also scheduled to meet with more than 40 world leaders to focus on his campaign promise of defeating 'radical Islamic terrorism'.
