This is an annual community wide event: a joining together of people and churches throughout the community sponsored by the Elba Ministerial Alliance.
It is a joining together of the Elba community for worship and giving thanks to God, and a proclamation of salvation in Jesus Christ. We seek to demonstrate the unity and oneness in spirit and purpose that we have in Christ. Everyone in the community is welcome to participate.
THEN SINGS MY SOUL is an evening of corporate worship led by Praise Team, Community Worship Choir and Orchestra. The songs in this particular musical are all familiar hymns designed for joint congregational worship, interspersed with Scriptures and inspirational readings from Christians of the past, such as the Puritans and Charles Spurgeon. This musical is a celebration of our God: the God of history who is the God of the present moment, and the God of the future to come. These hymns are as fresh and current as my next breath. In them we cry out to God who was with generations before and is with us now.
People from across the community of every age including high school students, adults and retirees. I am pleased to have several of the area band directors playing in the orchestra as well as other adults and students. The real impact of the event is the coming together of the community in worship and giving thanks to God in humility and contrition with an exuberant heart of praise.
