Zonta is an international organization that works to empower and educate women locally and globally through service and advocacy. We work locally with Chrysalis Home for Girls, The Exchange Center for Child Abuse Prevention, The House of Ruth, Girls Inc. and Genesis II Home for Previously Incarcerated Women. The club also provides scholarships and educational awards.
The International Food Festival is a unique and fun event that spotlights the diversity of the wiregrass. A $30 ticket allows you to travel around the world with food. You have the opportunity to try dishes from Pakistan, Greece, Lebanon, South Africa, Jamaica and China – just to name a few. More than 30 countries or regions are represented. There is also a kids activity area and a special passport game for kids willing to taste foods from other countries.
Most of the dishes come from home cooks who have a ties to a country or region. Many are family recipes that have been passed down over generations. We also include a few local restaurants like Willie’s Place for Puerto Rican cuisine and Taj for Indian cuisine.
