Sugar Plum shop Toy Drive

Event Dates and Times

11/22/2017 - 12/15/2017
Troy Fire Department
Date of Event = now thru 12-15-17

I actually called Childrens Hospital in Birmingham and asked to volunteer during the holidays and was told about the Sugar Plum Shop and how it would benefit the kids and parents that were there through the holidays

The Sugar Plum Shop is basically a toy store built inside the hospital from the donations received to the hospital. It allows the parents of any child that is sick or in the hospital during the holidays to shop for them without leaving the hospital and for any siblings they may have also so they can remain close to each other during Christmas and they also do the same throughout the year if they are in the hospital during their birthday

The City of Troy and surrounding areas have really came together over the years to make this a success and have jumped on board without hesitation. I work with a great group of guys and am honored to be a part of something to bring so many smiles to the faces of kids that are unfortunate to be at home during the holidays.

• The Wiregrass Marine Corps League Detachment 752 is collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program to distribute as Christmas gifts to children who may not have the opportunity of receiving gifts. The primary goal is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to these children and to motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.

• Most campaigns are able to assist children up to age 12. but in many local communities, local support is such that the age limit may be extended to 14-16.

"Yearbook" at Chipley High School

Event Dates and Times

11/28/2017 - 11/30/2017
1545 Brickyard RD, Chipley, FL 32428
In the upcoming theatrical production of Yearbook at Chipley High School, 1545 Brickyard RD, Chipely FL, the stage will intrigue audiences by experimenting with a growing theatre trend: the use of shadows. Under the new direction of Christopher “Dylan” Lawson, the show will depict four students looking through the newly published yearbook. Told through a series of flashback memories, audiences will be reminded of key high school moments such as: being asked to a school dance, senior pranks, school field trips, and more! The use of shadow theatre will be an out-of-the-box take on the traditional role of an “extra”, and will allow for a more visually stimulating theatre experience. The show will take the stage on November 28th & 30th at 7 PM; doors open at 6:30 PM. Tickets for this show will be $5 per person.
