BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- The fourth try proved to be the winning try for the new Miss Alabama, Anna Laura Bryan.
She won Saturday night in Birmingham in her fourth year of competition. The 22-year-old Decatur native told The Birmingham News (http://bit.l /NrHkVe ) that she never looked at her past attempts as failures. Instead, she saw them as lessons.
Bryan, who now lives in Birmingham, won the overall talent competition with her singing on her way to winning the title of Miss Alabama.
She will compete in the Miss America event in January in Las Vegas.
