Gerald Lee Urban of Ozark, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at Westside Terrace in Dothan. He was 82 years of age.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with full military honors and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Urban was born December 14, 1931 in Yankton, South Dakota to Harold and Ruth Pfotenhauer Urban. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and became 1st Lieutenant in 1955. Mr. Urban was a flight instructor at Greenville Air Force Base in Greenville, Ms. In 1956 he was in an aircraft accident on a training assignment to which he was honorably discharged on January 18, 1957. In 1968 he came to Ft. Rucker as an instructor until his retirement with Civil Service.
Mr. Urban was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Patricia Urban.
He is survived by his daughters, Diann Hohenthaner (Tom) of Alexandria, Va., Shari Westerman of Sioux Falls, SD and Dena of Texas; his sons, Mark Urban of Wichita, KS and David Duggan (Lucy) of Missouri; also surviving are his three grandchildren.
