Ted Messick, a resident of Newton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2014. He was 66 years of age.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at New Covenant Church with Reverend Robert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International.
Mr. Messick was born December 5, 1947 in Newton, Alabama to Eddie Leon and Lillie Bell "Tiny" Howard Messick. He was a member of New Covenant Church and enjoyed being outdoors and especially fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Messick is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cynthia Messick; his daughter, Samantha Mowrey of Newton; two grandsons, Bradley and Matthew Mowrey, both of Newton; his sister, Wanda Glover of Newton; his niece and nephew, Anna Glover and Lance Tidwell of Newton; also surviving is his special canine companion, Lynn.
