Gene A. Shaffer of Enterprise, AL passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. He was 48. Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Friday, August 24, 2012 at Christ Community Church of God with Reverend Johnny Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise directing. The body will be placed into the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 until 8 pm. Gene was born July 31, 1964 in Enterprise, AL to Thomas A. and Flora Cullifer Shaffer. He was a member of Christ Community Church of God. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Marie Shaffer, Enterprise; 2 sons: Joey Jackson (Becca), Montgomery, AL and Hunter Jackson, Enterprise; parents, Thomas and Flora Shaffer; sister, Patty Kinman (Gary), Hartford, AL; brother, Michael Shaffer, Level Plains, AL; 2 grandchildren: Jay and David Jackson, Montgomery; lots of friends and family, and best friend, Mary Archie.
