Mrs. Carolyn Gilley of Wicksburg went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 13, 2012 at her home. She was 73. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, in Piney Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Hollis Bradley and Rev. Brian Presley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Mrs. Gilley will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Gilley was born on April 18, 1938 in Geneva County, AL to the late Clayton and Leila Gilley Morrow. She attended Piney Grove Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Gilley cherished her family and will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as a grandson, Matthew Outlaw. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Ralph Gilley of Wicksburg; one son: Michael Gilley (Lori) of Dothan; three daughters: Sandra Forehand (William) of Enterprise, Patricia Outlaw (Ricky) and Virginia Gilley all of Wicksburg; three brothers: David Morrow (Marcelene), Billy Morrow (Sue) and Rev. Royce Morrow (Judy) all of Wicksburg; four grandchildren: Derek Gilley, Carrie Gilley Simmons, Sandy Forehand Love (Bobby), Brad Forehand (Amy); seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Gilley, Brad Forehand, Bobby Love, Matthew Lane, Mitchell Morrow, Ronald Gilley, Tim Gilley, Roger Simmons and Edward Simmons.
