Dykes, Daniel Junior

Mr. Daniel Junior Dykes of Slocomb passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at his home. He was 69.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Carlisle Weed and Rev. Johnny Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Junior was born on February 24, 1943 in Geneva County, AL to the late Daniel William and Iola McCoy Dykes.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Martha Gilley Dykes of Slocomb; one daughter: Karen Bond (Joey) of Wicksburg; two sons: Donnie Dykes (Stephanie) and Johnny Dykes (Terri) all of Slocomb; six grandchildren: Jaida and Dalton Dykes, Valerie Sullivan, Laura Bond, Ridge and Blaise Dykes; one great grandchild: Landon Quick.
