Four years ago Grace Bridges Dedert was murdered inside her Dothan furniture store.
There's still no suspect or arrest in connection to her death. Family and friends dedicated a tree in Dedert's memory this morning at the Wiregrass Angel House. The Japanese Maple is symbolic because it is actually the last tree bridges planted in her backyard before her death. Grace Bridges Dedert may no longer be living but loved ones say this tree will bring life and more memories to all who knew her.
It was a very emotional day; loved ones including police officials came together for the dedication. Although the case remains unsolved, Dothan police officials say that they aren't giving up hope.
"A lot of our violent crimes in Dothan and or violent crimes are drug related or domestic violence related. This one is particularly hard because Ms. Bridges has never done anything wrong in her life. She was simply just going to work for a living and her life was taken. It makes it harder on the police department when it's like that," said, Sgt. Will Glover of the Dothan Police Department.
Police tell me that they are still getting regular leads. Sgt. Glover tells us that the last one came in about two weeks ago. This is still an ongoing investigation for the police department.
